International Sail & Power Association Courses

  • ISPA Competent Crew Certificate
  • certifies you to act as crew while under the command of a Skipper on a sailboat or a power boat and operate a vessel under 30 ft. within 5 miles of safe harbor with no navigational hazards.
  • ISPA Day Skipper/Operator Certificate
  • usually the minimum requirement to charter a cruising vessel, certifies you as the Skipper responsible for the safety of a  vessel & crew for daylight sailing only, in local waters (within 10 miles of a safe harbor), & under moderate wind & sea conditions.
  • ISPA Coastal Navigator Certificate
  • certifies you as competent to navigate a cruising vessel safely in coastal/tidal waters within 25 miles of safe harbor, by day and night, using charts, a hand bearing compass, GPS, and navigational aids. It is also a pre-requisite of the Coastal Skipper Certificate.
  • ISPA Coastal Skipper Certificate
  • this certifies you as a Skipper responsible for the safety of a  vessel & crew in coastal passages within 50 miles of safe harbor, in coastal/tidal waters, where navigational hazards exist, day or night with good visibility.
  • ISPA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate
  • certifies you as the skipper and navigator, responsible for the safety of his/her sailing vessel and crew, while making offshore passages within 150 miles of the coastline, where navigational and weather hazards exist, in any conditions, at any time day or night.
  • ISPA Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate
  • certifies you as the Skipper & Navigator,  responsible for the safety of vessel & crew for ocean passages, where navigational and weather hazards exist, in any conditions at any time day or night.
